Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the NorShor

From awkward first dates and first loves, through marriage and parenting, through dating profiles and dreaded in-laws, I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, is a delightful musical comedy about love in all its messy glory that will resonate with millennials and baby boomers alike.

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is presented in the form of quick vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. The play’s tagline is “Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.”

With a few exceptions, each scene stands apart from the others, but move forward like an relationships’ arc throughout one’s life. At first date kicks things off, followed by scenes dealing with marriage, children and family, making one’s first online dating video, and dating in one’s golden years after a spouse’s passing.

There are 18 scenes with 42 different characters, but this show is performed by a small cast of 4 actors, supported by an orchestra of 3 musicians (playing multiple instruments, of course!).

The Duluth Playhouse’s production features Joe Allen, Carolyn LePine, Nathan Payne, and Christina Stroup, and was directed by the duo of Christine Gradl Seitz and Amber Burns.

This is a special one-weekend-only presentation for Valentine’s Day at the NorShor Theatre, and will perform on Friday, February 14 at 7:00pm and Saturday, February 15 at 2:00pm.

  1. Came to the show on Friday, liked it so much we brought our daughter to see it on Saturday. Bought tickets online. Drove 2 hours to get there. 7pm show was advertised arrived to find 12 other people trying to get in, including 2 ushers. Apparently, there was no 7pm show. Very dissatisfied. Tickets were confirmed. False advertising. Will seek refund.

    • Hi Ann, thanks for your comment. Of course we will be happy to issue you a refund. Can you let us know where you saw the show advertised at 7:00pm? We did make the performance date change a while ago, and updated our marketing materials accordingly, but things do slip by once in awhile. Irregardless, our Box Office will be in touch with you about your refund. Have a great day!
