I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is presented in the form of quick vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships. The play’s tagline is “Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.”
With a few exceptions, each scene stands apart from the others, but move forward like an relationships’ arc throughout one’s life. At first date kicks things off, followed by scenes dealing with marriage, children and family, making one’s first online dating video, and dating in one’s golden years after a spouse’s passing.
There are 18 scenes with 42 different characters, but this show is performed by a small cast of 4 actors, supported by an orchestra of 3 musicians (playing multiple instruments, of course!).
The Duluth Playhouse’s production features Joe Allen, Carolyn LePine, Nathan Payne, and Christina Stroup, and was directed by the duo of Christine Gradl Seitz and Amber Burns.
This is a special one-weekend-only presentation for Valentine’s Day at the NorShor Theatre, and will perform on Friday, February 14 at 7:00pm and Saturday, February 15 at 2:00pm.
ENJOY A SNEAK PEEK OF THE SHOW!
