Under the Protecting Americans From Tax Hikes Act of 2015, Americans who meet the guidelines below may give IRA funds to the Playhouse without paying federal income tax. Guidelines: You must be 70½ or older. You may distribute any amount up to $100,000 in a calendar year to charity as long as it is completed by December 31 of the year you intend to make the charitable rollover.

If you’ve held the stock for more than one year, you can make a gift of publicly traded stock and avoid paying capital gains tax on the transaction.
